April 19, 2024: Seventy-seven percent (77%) of the elections covered by Ballotpedia in March were uncontested. Of 6,984 elections in 26 states, excluding presidential primaries, 77% were uncontested. In February, 46% were uncontested, and in January, just 30% were. This includes congressional, state, and local elections.
