August 26, 2019: Eighty percent (80%) of American adults believe it is good for high school students to have a part-time job after school and on weekends. A Job Creators Network/ScottRasmussen.com national survey found that just 20% believe students would be better off waiting until they graduate before getting a job.[1]

Nearly half (49%) think that 17-year-old students should put in 10 or more hours each week at work. And 71% believe they should be paid the minimum wage.

One reason for the belief that paid jobs are good for students may be that 68% of today’s adults had a job in high school.
