August 29, 2022: Seventy percent (70%) of voters say that inflation is very important in terms of how they will vote in the midterm elections this November, more than any other single issue. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 62% say crime is very important, followed by health care (60%), election integrity (57%), gun violence (56%), and education (55%).

When asked which single issue is most important, inflation is again the clear leader at 43%, followed by health care (10%), election integrity (8%), abortion (7%), and gun violence (7%).

Methodology

The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on August 16-17, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
