August 29, 2023: 125 years ago, in 1898, the first Goodyear Tire factory opened in Akron, Ohio. Eighteen (18) years later, a 36,000 acre plot near Phoenix, AZ, was purchased for growing cotton, which was used in the tires.[1]
Today, Goodyear is one of the top five manufacturers of tires in the world, wth 1,240 service centers and 57 facilities. As of 2021, they employed more than 72,000 people, and bring in gross revenue of $12.32 billion annually.[1]
