August 29, 2025: Forty-two percent (42%) of voters say it is good for America that, for the first time in 50 years, more people will leave the United States than enter it, with 22% saying it is very good. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found 39% say it is bad for America, with 21% saying very bad. Nine percent (9%) say neither good nor bad.

The survey also found that 35% say it is good for the economy that more people will be leaving the country than entering, with 14% saying very good. Forty-three percent (43%) say this will be bad for the economy, with 24% saying very bad. Ten percent (10%) say this will be neither good nor bad.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on August 18-19, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of Registered Voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.

Scott Rasmussen is the president of RMG Research, Inc. and founder of the Napolitan Institute.
