August 31, 2023: Given a choice between two candidates, 45% prefer the one who says parents need more control over what their children are taught. A Scott Rasmussen National Survey found that 38% prefer the candidate who says that education professionals should decide.
The survey also found that 35% of voters say that public schools provide the best education for elementary school students. Forty-four percent (44%) say some other type of school is best, including religious schools (18%), secular private schools (10%), homeschool (9%), and charter schools (7%).
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on August 14-15, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the -sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
