August 7, 2018: “American adults spend over 11 hours per day listening to, watching, reading or generally interacting with media.”[1]
According to the latest Nielsen Total Audience Report, there are big generational differences in the composition of Americans' media interaction. Watching television accounts for 60% of media time for those over 65. However, adults under 35 spend only 26% of their media time watching television. They spend 29% of their media time on smartphone apps.
