August 8, 2019: The latest ScottRasmussen.com national poll shows that 47% of voters say they will definitely vote against President Trump in 2020.[1]
That number almost exactly matches the 46% who approve of the president’s job performance. Both numbers have remained stable for many months. They reflect just how polarized American politics have become.
There are 15 months to go until Election Day, and a lot can happen during that time. However, if the president’s job approval continues to match the number who will definitely vote against him, we could see another very close election.
Each weekday, Scott Rasmussen’s Number of the Day explores interesting and newsworthy topics at the intersection of culture, politics, and technology.
- August 7, 2019 – 114 federal judgeships remain vacant
- August 6, 2019 – 18 percent of voters believe federal government primarily responsible for solving inner-city problems
- August 5, 2019 – 83 percent of voters recognize that federal spending has doubled over 30 years
- August 2, 2019 – 22 percent of voters are afraid to share their political views most of the time
