August 8, 2024: Fifty-two years (52) ago, President Richard Nixon resigned as President of the United States. This came after an investigation of burglars broke into offices of the Democratic National Committee, which were in the Watergate office complex. The investigation showed a connection to President Nixon, which ultimately led to his resignation. A month later, on September 8, 1972, President Gerald Ford issued a full pardon of President Nixon in the hopes of helping the United States move forward.[1]
