December 21, 2017: The Pew Research Center estimates that, from a global perspective, a family of four earning between $14,600 and $29,200 qualifies as middle class.[1]

However, those figures are more than 71% of the world’s population enjoy.

Fifteen percent live on less than $2 a day. Most, 56%, earn more than $2 daily but less than $14,600 annually.

The median household income in the United States reached $59,039 in 2016.[2]
