December 3, 2021: Under current law, men between 18 and 25 must register for the draft. If a draft were implemented, some of them would be drafted and put into combat situations. Forty-four percent (44%) of voters believe the law should be changed so women must also register for the draft. [1]
A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 35% disagree and 21% are not sure. By a 2-to-1 margin, Democrats believe women should be eligible for the draft. Republicans and independents are evenly divided. If it is someday needed, just 13% believe the president should have the authority to implement a draft on his own. Seventy-seven percent (77%) believe the president be required to get approval from Congress.[1]
