December 8, 2025: Eighty-four years ago, on December 8, 1941, the United States officially declared war on Japan. This declaration came after Japan’s military attacked the United States military base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7. While the United States did send money and military supplies to Allied countries, the United States had attempted to stay neutral in a military sense since war had broken out in Europe in September of 1939. The attack on Pearl Harbor officially drove the United States into the war.[1][2]
