February 07, 2023: Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters say that the worst of the pandemic is behind us, equal to the previous high in May 2021. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 25% say the worst is still to come.

The survey also found that voters are divided on the federal government’s response to the pandemic. Forty-two percent (42%) say that the government overreacted to the coronavirus in ways that did more harm than good. Forty-three percent (43%) say it did not.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on January 24-26, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
