February 09, 2023: Halley’s Comet was last visible from Earth on February 9, 1986. The comet appears in the sky roughly every 76 years and is next expected to be seen from Earth on July 28th, 2061. The first recorded viewing of Halley's comet was 2490 years ago in Greece.

The comet is roughly 9 miles long and 5 miles across. When flying by earth it can reach speeds of up to 157,800 miles per hour.[1]
