February 10, 2025: Two hundred and sixty-two (262) years ago today, on February 10, 1763, the Treaty of Paris was signed to end the French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years War. This moment would have lasting consequences. Not only would it end the conflict between the British and French, but would also serve as the catalyst for the American Revolution. This war put an enormous economic strain on Great Britain causing the British to implement the high taxes on the American colonists that led to revolution.[1]
