February 27, 2025: Eighty (80) special congressional elections were called between 2013 and 2024. Of these 80, 29 were called for seats vacated by Democrats, and 51 vacated by Republicans.
There have been two special elections called to fill vacant seats in the 119th Congress so far. They are both scheduled for April 1.
