January 11, 2024: Twenty-five states will increase their minimum wages by an average of $0.86 this year. These range from an increase of $0.23 in Michigan to an increase of $2.00 in Hawaii. Twenty-two of these took place on January 1, while Oregon and Nevada will increase their minimum wages on July 1, and Florida’s will increase on September 30.
Entering 2024, 20 states used the federal minimum wage of $7.25, while 20 states set higher minimums.
