Scott Rasmussen's Number of the Day for January 25, 2024
The Number of the Day columns published on Ballotpedia reflect the views of the author.
January 25, 2024: Sixty-two percent (62%) of voters believe that there are too many people going to college who would be better off finding a job after high school. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 70% of voters believe that a student should not be allowed to graduate high school if they do not possess the basic skills needed to get a good job and function as an adult in society.
The survey also found that 76% of voters believe it is more important to create more good jobs for people who don’t have college degrees than for everybody to be able to go to college.
Methodology
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points. The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on January 10-11, 2024. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
