Scott Rasmussen's Number of the Day for January 3, 2019
The Number of the Day columns published on Ballotpedia reflect the views of the author.
January 3, 2019: As the new Congress prepares to assume power, 65% of voters agree that just about all positive change in America begins outside of the political system and far from the halls of power in Washington, D.C. A ScottRasmussen.com survey found that just 22% disagree and 14% are not sure.[1]
Other data shows that 68% believe that culture and technology lead the nation forward while politics and government lag behind. On that point, 18% disagree and 13% are not sure.
There is no gender gap in these attitudes. The views are shared across generational, racial, partisan, and ideological lines.
Both of these themes are emphasized in my latest book, The Sun Is Still Rising: Politics Has Failed But America Will Not.
Each weekday, Scott Rasmussen’s Number of the Day explores interesting and newsworthy topics at the intersection of culture, politics, and technology.
