July 11, 2022: Fifty-four percent (54%) of voters believe that, at this point, getting COVID is pretty much the same as getting the flu or a bad cold. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that just 28% disagree.

The survey also found that 50% of all voters say the worst of the pandemic is behind us. That number has held steady since late March. Optimism has still not returned to the May 2021 peak when 56% said the worst was behind us.

Methodology

The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on June 27-29, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
