July 12, 2023: Twenty-two (22%) of voters say their personal finances are getting better. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 37% say they are getting worse. That net -15 is unchanged from a month ago.

The survey also found that just 26% say their income has kept up with inflation, while 68% say it has not. Thirty percent (30%) say they are better off than they were four years ago, but twice as many (61%) say they are not.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on June 28-29, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the -sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
