July 29, 2025: Forty-one percent (41%) of voters say it is more important to keep cell phones out of classrooms than to let students have them in case of an emergency. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found 56% hold the opposing view.

The survey also found 69% say parents should have a choice of schools for their children, including some schools that allow students to carry cellphones and others that ban cellphones. Seventeen percent (17%) disagree.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on July 16, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of Registered Voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.

Scott Rasmussen is the president of RMG Research, Inc. and founder of the Napolitan Institute.
