June 10, 2025: Two-hundred and fifty (250) years ago on June 10, 1775, John Adams proposed the Continental Army to Congress. John Adams intention with this was to show a united front amongst the colonies. Until this, most of the fighting that had been done was done by localized troops. To ensure a united front, five days later on June 15, 1775, John Adams would nominate George Washington to the post of commander in chief of the Continental Army.[1]
