June 2, 2021: Seventy-two percent (72%) of voters nationwide believe illegal immigration is bad for the United States. That total includes 90% of Republicans, 66% of independents, and 57% of Democrats.[1]

Most voters, however, see a distinction between legal and illegal immigration. Only 11% of voters believe that legal immigration is bad for the country.[1]

A majority (61%) of voters believe both that legal immigration is good for the U.S. and illegal immigration is bad.[1]

While most voters welcome immigrants who enter the country legally, there is significant concern about illegal entry. In fact, 60% believe that the growing number of people who have been entering the United States illegally is an invasion of the United States.[1]
