State lawmakers have introduced more public sector union bills in 2023 than in any year since 2018. On June 27th of that year, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that public sector unions cannot require non-member employees to pay agency fees covering the costs of non-political union activities, one of the most consequential decisions regarding public sector unions in decades.
