June 28, 2019: To celebrate the 4th of July, 62% of American adults plan to watch fireworks next week.[1]
A ScottRasmussen.com survey found that 54% will have a cookout with family and friends, 19% will attend a parade, and 11% will sing patriotic songs.
As for the document that started it all, just 6% will read the Declaration of Independence.
However, Americans still embrace the ideals of that influential document. Ninety-four percent (94%) of voters agree with a sentiment sometimes described as the American Creed: Every American should have the right to live their own life as they see fit, so long as they respect the rights of others to do the same.[2]
