Scott Rasmussen's Number of the Day for June 5, 2023
The Number of the Day columns published on Ballotpedia reflect the views of the author.
June 5, 2023: Two-thirds (66%) of voters favor the creation of a bi-partisan, scientifically minded COVID-19 Commission to investigate lockdowns, school closures, vaccines, and mask mandates with the goal of being better prepared in the future. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that just 21% oppose the creation of such a Commission.
The survey also found that voters are evenly divided between those who think that, in retrospect, the federal government overreacted to the pandemic in ways that did more harm than good (44%) and those who do not (44%).
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on May 24-25, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the -sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
