June 7, 2019: Sixty-three percent (63%) of Americans are likely to take either a vacation or a long weekend trip this summer. That total includes 64% of rural residents, 63% of those from the suburbs, and 62% of people from urban areas.

A ScottRasmussen.com/Job Creators Network survey found that 33% of vacationers plan to spend more money than last year while 15% think they will spend less.[1]

Fifty-five percent (55%) will drive, 27% will fly, 4% will take the train, and 15% will use some combination of travel.

Most (55%) will stay in a hotel, and another 25% will stay with family or friends. Six percent (6%) will go camping or stay in an RV. The remainder will stay in an Airbnb or other home rental or will make other arrangements.
