June 9, 2017: Two-thirds (68 percent) of congressional Democrats who voted for Obamacare are no longer in office.

The controversial law passed with support from 219 Democrats in the House and 60 in the Senate. Among that group, 158 House members and 33 senators are no longer in office.

However, the numbers are even bleaker for Democrats who voted against that law. Of the 34 who did so, 32 are no longer in office. That’s a 94 percent dismissal rate! In other words, despite the fact that the legislation was unpopular when it passed, Democrats who supported their president’s bill fared better over time than those who defected from the party line.

It’s also worth noting that large numbers of Republicans who voted against the bill are no longer in office. Seventeen of the 39 GOP senators who voted against the bill are no longer in office. Neither are 114 Republicans in the House.
