Scott Rasmussen's Number of the Day for March 1, 2019

March 1, 2019: Much of the political world is already obsessed with the 2020 presidential election. However, three states—Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi—will be electing governors in 2019.
In Kentucky, Republican Matt Bevin is running for re-election. In Louisiana, it’s a Democrat—John Bel Edwards—who is hoping for another term. Mississippi is the only state guaranteed to have a new governor this year. Term limits prevent incumbent Republican Phil Bryant from running again.
Both Kentucky and Mississippi are among the 22 Republican state trifectas (meaning they control the governorship and both chambers of the state legislature).
Louisiana is one of 14 states without a trifecta. It has a Democratic governor, but both houses of the state legislature are controlled by Republicans.
