March 11, 2025: Eighty-four (84) years ago today, on March 11, 1941, President Roosevelt signed into law the Lend-Lease Act. The purpose of this act was to distribute military aid to countries fighting the Axis powers in World War II without having American troops go off to war. There were isolationists in Congress who did not support this, saying it ended U.S. neutrality and gave the President endless authority. However, after much debate, Lend-Lease was ultimately passed.[1]
