March 14, 2025: Fifty-three percent (53%) of voters favor requiring every federal agency to reduce its total payroll by 1% a year for ten years after the current round of layoffs. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found that 31% are opposed.
The survey also found 39% of voters claim to have felt no impact from the federal government layoffs. Twenty-three percent (23%) have felt hardly any, 24% have felt some, and just 8% have felt a lot.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on February 27-28, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
Scott Rasmussen is the president of RMG Research, Inc.
