March 20, 2024: Seventy-seven percent (77%) of voters say the federal government does not pay enough attention to what voters want when establishing policies and regulations. A Scott Rasmussen national survey conducted by RMG Research found that 9% of voters believe the government pays too much attention to what voters want, and 8% believe the government pays about the right amount of attention to voters.

The survey also found that 62% of voters believe it would be worse for America if only people with college degrees could vote, while 15% of voters believe it would be better.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on March 6-7, 2024. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
