March 21, 2024: Sixteen states use ranked-choice voting (RCV) either statewide or in some localities. Five states prohibit the use of RCV. Alaska will vote in November on a ballot measure to repeal top-four RCV. On November 3, 2020, voters there approved a measure to establish RCV 51% to 49%.
