March 25, 2025: One hundred and fourteen years ago on March 25, 1911 the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire occurred. This fire is most remembered for being a pivotal moment in U.S. history that led to safer working conditions. The fire occurred in the Asch Building in New York City and killed 129 women and 17 men. A commission was later established to investigate other factories, ultimately influencing various labor laws nationwide.[1]
