March 7, 2025: Six hundred and thirty-five (635) bills from Congress were vetoed by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Roosevelt vetoed more bills than any other president in the history of the United States. Grover Cleveland comes in at second place, with 414 vetoes.
Since George Washington, 2,596 vetoes have been issued by our nation’s presidents. Congress has successfully overridden 112 vetoes, which comes with a two-thirds vote in the House and the Senate. In Donald Trump’s second term, he has yet to veto any legislation.
