May 19, 2022: Fifty-nine percent (59%) of voters are at least somewhat confident that votes in the upcoming midterm elections will be accurately counted and the proper winners declared. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 33% lack such confidence.
The totals include 27% who are very confident and 11% who are not at all confident.
The survey also found confidence was lowest among Republicans who support Trump-like policies. Among that group, just 32% were even somewhat confident. Confidence was much higher among traditional Republicans (65%), Democrats supporting Sanders-like policies (79%), and traditional Democrats (86%).
Methodology
The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on May 5-7, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
