May 19, 2025: Seventy percent (70%) of voters say it is very important to ensure the security of America’s electricity grid. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found just 1% say this is not at all important.

The survey also found 79% say it is likely that a foreign government or terrorist could do significant damage to the electricity grid and leave many Americans without power. Fifteen percent (15%) do not think this is likely.

Scott Rasmussen is the president of RMG Research, Inc.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on April 30-May 1, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
