May 21, 2024: Seventy-nine percent (79%) of voters favor prohibiting people who earn more than a million dollars a year from receiving federal aid payments of any kind. A Scott Rasmussen national survey conducted by RMG Research found that just 14% oppose such a rule.

The survey also found that 76% favor a similar rule that would prohibit businesses with revenues over a billion dollars a year from receiving federal subsidies. Sixty-seven percent (67%) favor prohibiting federal subsidies for colleges with endowment funds of more than $100 million.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on April 25-24, 2024. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
