May 23, 2024: Over the period from 2016 to 2022, richer counties averaged 10% higher voter turnout than poorer ones. Among the 50 richest counties in the United States, voter turnout averaged 46% during that period. In the 50 poorest counties, voter turnout averaged 36%. Those richest counties had an average household income of more than $105,000, while the poorest averaged less than $35,000.
