May 23, 2025: Nineteen percent (19%) of voters have very closely been following the news about the new pope. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found 39% have been somewhat closely following this news, and 25% have not very closely been following. Fifteen percent (15%) have not at all closely been following the news about the new pope.

The survey also found just 8% say the new pope will influence their daily lives a lot. Seventeen percent (17%) say their daily lives will be influenced a little, 27% say not much, 42% say not at all.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on May 12-13, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of Registered Voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.

Scott Rasmussen is the president of RMG Research, Inc.
