May 27, 2024: Forty-four percent (44%) of voters believe that Memorial Day is one of our nation’s most important holidays. A Scott Rasmussen national survey conducted by RMG Research found that just 9% believe it is one of our nation’s least important holidays.
Less than half of voters (47%) will do anything special to commemorate memorial day this year. Well over three-quarters (81%) of those who are going to do something special to commemorate the day are going to spend time with friends and family. Over half (53%) are going to spend time grilling or barbecuing.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on May 20-21, 2024. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
