May 31, 2018: Thirty-five percent (35%) of consumers view a product labeled “vegan” as less appealing. That’s a higher negative reaction than Morning Consult found for any other word or phrase.[1]

Other turn-offs include “diet,” “sugar-free,” and “fat-free.”

The most positive words are “fresh,” “farm-fresh,” and “sourced from American farmers.”
