May 4, 2023: Sixty-six percent (66%) of voters say that more energy exploration in the United States is good for the environment because it means fewer energy resources coming from countries with lower environmental standards. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that just 14% disagree, and 20% are not sure

The survey also found that 65% believe it is possible to maintain high environmental standards and protect the environment while modernizing the regulatory process so that important infrastructure projects can be approved in a timely manner.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on April 18-19, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
