May 5, 2023: 161 years ago, the Mexican army won a victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. The holiday, Cinco de Mayo, has become a major celebration of Mexican culture in the United States.[1]
Today there are more than 37 million Mexican-Americans in the U.S., making them by far the largest Hispanic group in the country.[2]
