May 7, 2019: A Job Creators Network/ScottRasmussen.com poll found that, at some point in their lives, 77% of American adults have worked for the minimum wage.[1]
It’s an experience shared by Americans across all demographic and partisan lines. There is absolutely no difference between men and women, and the totals include 78% of Republicans, 78% of Democrats, and 77% of independents. Seventy-three percent (73%) of urban residents have worked for the minimum along with 79% of those in suburban and rural areas.
The poll found that the vast majority (74%) held their minimum wage jobs as a teenager.[2] That figure includes 42% who worked for the minimum wage before turning 18.
