November 12, 2025: Twenty-five percent (25%) of voters say Zohran Mamdani, the elected mayor of New York, will be very good for New York. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found 20% say he will be somewhat good for New York, 13% say he will be somewhat bad, and 31% say he will be very bad.
The survey also found that 27% say a candidate like Mamdani will have a better chance in the next presidential election than a more traditional Democrat. Fifty-nine percent (59%) say a more traditional Democrat would have a better chance.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on November 5-6, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of Registered Voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
Scott Rasmussen is the president of RMG Research, Inc. and founder of the Napolitan Institute.
