November 14, 2017: The average American spends 32.1 hours each week listening to music.[1] According to Nielsen’s Music 360 study, that’s up from 26.6 hours in 2016 and 23.5 hours in 2015.
The average person listens to music on 3.4 different devices over the course of a week. The most common are smartphones, computers, and television. Just over 10% still listen on a standalone radio, the mainstay of music a couple of generations ago.
