November 14, 2019: Thirty-two (32) Members of Congress and the U.S. Senate are not running for re-election in 2020. That number is likely to grow over the coming months.[1]
By way of comparison, 55 Members of Congress chose not to run again in 2018. In the last presidential election year, 33 Members made that choice.[1]
The list currently includes 23 Republicans and 9 Democrats. Four Senators are not seeking re-election along with 28 Members of the House.[1]
