November 18, 2024: Sixty-four percent (64%) of voters trust the American people more than political leaders and government experts when it comes to important policy decisions. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found that 17% trust political leaders and government experts more.
The survey also found that a majority (71%) of voters believe voters and elected officials should have a chance to overturn regulations they oppose. Just 18% say it should be experts at government agencies that make final decisions on regulations.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on November 7-8, 2024. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
